All parishes in the Diocese were asked by the Bishop to :-

 

• prayerfully review the past and present aspirations of our church over the next year

• agree an action plan with attention to the three aspects of Christian reconciliation that bring focus to Life Together, namely

 

 

 

Attending to God

- Worship & Spirituality

- Christian Giving & Stewardship

 

 

 

 

Building Christian Community

- Lay & Ordained Ministry

- Ministry with children & young people in our schools

 

 

 

 

Commending God's love for the world

- Evangelism & apologetics (the defence of the truths of the Christian faith)

- Social Responsibility in the community

-Partnership in the gospel with the wider church

The PCC met together for a Vision Day on 1st December 2007 and three groups were set the task of considering our vision for the next year.

 

Our Mission Action Plan was presented to the Bishop at Charitas on 21st June 2008. It is a three year plan

 

 

Plan for 2008-9

Our Mission Action Plan for 2008-9 is to focus particularly on:

'Commending God's Love to the World' by Developing more teaching to expand our knowledge and understanding of our Faith and to give us greater confidence to proclaim it.

 

Key Actions

+ Formation of a Teaching Team with a variety of backgrounds
+ Development of a 3 year programme in outline and a 1 year programme in detail
+ Implementation of the first year of a varied programme of speakers, events and activities
 

 

Plan for 2009-10

Ensuring that we are best placed to reach out to all and in particular to nurture the younger generation within the whole community.

To concentrate on becoming known as a welcoming and inclusive Church that continues to grow in holiness
